I called around the other day looking for prices on CO2 and found Bablake Wines.
They charge £24 for a 14lb bottle including the £5 deposit, with no rental/service charge. It's £18.86 for a refill and they deliver for free. Prices include VAT. That's quite a bit cheaper than White's.
The number is 01179411511. I think they are in St. Werburghs.
Cheap CO2

Whites are £22.79, Some people are charged a deposit (I never have been) and often they do a 3 for 2 offer. Oddly Bablake seem to be cheaper by the cost of VAT, perhaps they are ex-VAT prices?TomAdam wrote:I called around the other day looking for prices on CO2 and found Bablake Wines.

Missed this. Prices I quoted definitely include VAT. Perhaps they messed up their market research? I think White's didn't like the sound of me as they brought the deposit up a couple of times across my call.

Not seen them anywhere I have been. Maybe specialist sizes like that would mean a visit to BOC and setting up an account with them - which makes it expensive. Just put the cylinder somewhere remote and pipe the gas in??squid88 wrote:On the subject of c02 does anyone know of place that does smaller 5lb short tanks the kind you see inside kegerator style fridges ?

Yep I've gone down route carbing over 3/4 weeks with full size bottle, then using a soda stream with a adaptor. So it will fit in fridge , this however back fired as washer in adaptor failed... I post some pics when it's working !.

It's been a pain it's really easy for it end up leaking it's fiddly to say the least.
Re: Cheap CO2
One of the places I called was offering bottles smaller than 14lb. It might have been Bablake, White's or Bristol Gas.
