From my recent beer lottery that I've been partaking in (this involves drinking random beers picked up at the national) the main issue seems to be adhering to the style. Seems the Brewers focus on being too extreme in one area and missing the balance elements, presumably to give their beer an edge....

Re: homebrew flaws and their causes

Probably the most common one I notice/come across is fusel alcohols due to fermenting at too high a temperature. Re: September meeting, BBW and The National

Secrets seems to be out!

In reality, I'm participating in a 75 mile off road bike ride on Saturday so am avoiding alchohol until Saturday pm. Think I've managed to get rid of the Imp. Stouts and Belgium Strongs from my system from last Saturday's judging.

Enjoy your field trip gents. I won't be present as I'm not allowed out as I'm a very naughty boy.

Re: 2014 - UK National Homebrew Competition, Bristol

Hi guys,

Sorry to say, I can't make the labelling on Tuesday or the Friday judging session as you've managed to tie up with BRI shifts!

See you all on Saturday 13th if not before.

Re: September meeting, BBW and The National

I thought it was on the 18th this month - Third Thursday of every month and all that.

Therefore, you can go to your Belgium beer night at Beerd!
